What KeepFree is

KeepFree is a menu bar app and a Terminal tool for macOS 13 or newer that shows your Mac's available space and memory, finds hidden space, cleans what is safe junk and warns you before the disk fills up or memory runs out. It runs on your Mac; it is not a cloud service.

Plans

There are three lifetime plans: Essential ($59), Pro ($89), Complete ($129). Each plan unlocks the features listed for it on the KeepFree page at the time of purchase; Complete unlocks everything. You can upgrade to a bigger plan from the dashboard, paying only the difference. The plan is part of the authorization each Mac receives, so a new plan reaches your Mac on its next license renewal.

The license

KeepFree, from version 2.1 on (the Terminal tool, the menu bar app, the installers, catalogs, texts, screens, the skill for AI assistants and the documentation, as distributed by PSD Software), is computer software protected by Brazilian Law 9.609/98 (Software Law), Law 9.610/98 (Copyright Law) and applicable international treaties. It is licensed, not sold.

The purchase grants a perpetual, personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to use KeepFree on one Mac at a time, within the features of the purchased plan, with the updates to that plan that PSD Software publishes. Each plan receives only its own part of KeepFree; features of other plans are not licensed to anyone who has not bought them, even if any part of them is or ends up on the computer.

You switch Macs in the dashboard, once every 30 days. Reinstalling on the same Mac does not count as a switch. KeepFree only works on a Mac activated with the key: it keeps an authorization signed by our dashboard, valid for 30 days and renewed automatically over the internet; if it expires without renewal, KeepFree stops until it reconnects.

Without prior written permission from PSD Software, you may not:

• a) resell, sublicense, rent, lend, assign, share the key or distribute KeepFree or copies of it;
• b) copy or reproduce KeepFree, in whole or in part, except for a backup copy allowed by law;
• c) reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, decode, deobfuscate or otherwise attempt to obtain the code, logic, catalogs, rules or internal structure of KeepFree beyond what it shows in normal use, except only to the extent that applicable law expressly and mandatorily allows it;
• d) use, submit or expose KeepFree, in whole or in part (code, texts, catalogs, screens, documentation or messages), to artificial intelligence tools, language models, coding assistants, agents or automations in order to analyze, explain, extract, translate, summarize, rewrite, reproduce, adapt or recreate KeepFree, create a derivative work or competing product, or to train, fine-tune, evaluate or feed models;
• e) create, develop, publish or exploit a competing product or service based on KeepFree or on what was learned from access to its code;
• f) circumvent, disable, alter, simulate or forge the license check, the use authorization, the computer binding or the plan restrictions, including to use features of a plan that was not purchased;
• g) remove or alter authorship, rights or license notices;
• h) exploit KeepFree commercially in any way beyond your own use.
• The intended use of the skill that ships with KeepFree is allowed: asking an AI assistant to run KeepFree commands on your Mac, without reading, copying or reproducing its code.

Revocation and consequences

The license may be revoked, with notice, in case of chargeback, payment dispute or breach of these terms. Installed copies stop working when the Mac's authorization expires and is not renewed.

Breach of this license subjects the infringer, in addition to revocation, to full compensation for the damages caused to PSD Software, including lost profits, and to the civil and criminal penalties of Brazilian Law 9.609/98 and Law 9.610/98 and of the law of the place of the infringement, without prejudice to other remedies.

The full license text comes with every copy of KeepFree (the LICENSE file, in Portuguese with an English translation; for licenses bought in US dollars, the English text governs). Versions prior to 2.1 (published as "Disco Livre" and "KeepFree" 2.0) were distributed under the MIT license, and those who received them keep the rights of that license over those versions. Parts of KeepFree came from the original disco-livre, by Willian Carlos Lameu, published under the MIT license, whose notice stays with those parts.

Language

A license bought in US dollars is in English: the installer, the KeepFree app and its Terminal tool speak English with you, and so do this site, the dashboard, the emails and support.

What you need

• A Mac with macOS 13 (Ventura) or newer, Intel or Apple silicon.
• Internet to install, activate, renew the authorization and update.

Payment and delivery

Payments in US dollars are processed by Stripe, by card. Prices are one-time, with no subscription; Stripe may show the amount in your local currency, and taxes or bank fees may apply depending on your country. Your key arrives by email as soon as the payment is confirmed and is also available in the dashboard. If a payment is refunded or disputed, the key is canceled; if an upgrade is refunded, the license goes back to the plan it had before.

Refunds

KeepFree is digital content delivered right after payment. All sales are final: when buying, you ask for immediate delivery and acknowledge that you lose any right of withdrawal, where the law allows it. If KeepFree does not work on your Mac and we cannot fix it, write to us at [email protected].

Support and updates

Support is by email at [email protected], in English. New versions are installed from the app, in Settings, keeping your settings, quarantine and history. We do not commit to publishing updates on a fixed schedule.

Responsibilities

• On its own, KeepFree only deletes what rebuilds itself, such as caches, old logs and crash reports. What is yours only goes if you check it, and it goes to quarantine, where you can undo it. You are responsible for what you choose to clean; keeping a backup of your Mac (such as Time Machine) is still a good idea.
• KeepFree is provided as is. PSD Software is not liable for indirect damages arising from its use, subject to the consumer rights that cannot be waived under the law that applies to you.
• Nothing in these terms limits rights that mandatory consumer law gives you.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the date at the top is updated and buyers are notified. Changes do not take away rights from licenses already purchased.

Law and venue

Brazilian law governs, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules of the buyer's country. Venue: the courts of Natal/RN, Brazil, unless the law of the consumer's domicile requires otherwise.
